Sexual Infection Protection
What's Up Down There?
Can catch from oral, anal, or vaginal sex and contact with open sores. You might notice symptoms (usually late). Most people think it is something else.
Syphilis

Symptoms:
- Sores on the genitals, mouth, or rectum. They can last for weeks. They are usually painless
- Rough, red rash on palms, feet, and trunk. They are usually not itchy. They start 5-12 weeks after infection
- Sore throat, swollen glands
- Headache, fatigue, and achy muscles
- Can cause changes in how you think and act
Use condoms/barriers to lower risk. Avoid sexual contact if sores or rash are there. Can be treated with antibiotic injections. Get partner treated, too.
